To my babies…

First to T. Can you believe …..19??? Thoughtful, kind, very very very smart and strong. You are the one to whom I owe my patience. You taught me more than I can ever express. I am so proud that I get to be part of your life. I hope that I give you the mothering that you deserve. I love you!

My second child and first born River. 7 wow. 7….. BEAUTIFUL, funny, spirited, kind, effervescent and full of life…. I look at you and wonder how I made you where did you come from? You are so delicate and fine I am almost sometimes afraid to touch you. I love you baby!

My baby Grey…….you are so  funny, serious, and devilish. I just look you with awe and wonder (while you tear apart the living-room). You were exactly what we needed. I love you baby boy!

I am amazed that this is the path I chose. I am in near constant wonder how I am able to be the mother of such awesome humans. I hope I don’t let you down.

Open letter to Oregon

Dear Oregon,

    I am writing this letter in response to the treatment I have been receiving at the hands of your “nature”. Although I am not a native Oregonian myself, I am married to one and thought that would have some sway with you but *alas* no it does not. I would like to also state for the record that I have been very loyal to you….. for example: when an (unnamed) native Las Vegan referred to Portland and “freak city” I give her a swift (but loving as I know that it your true nature)  open handed slap to the mouth. So, it is with all this information that I would like to put forth a cease and desist order on the ritual like killing of me. Please inform your trees and flowers to stop depositing their deadly pollen inside of my head and please please please make it so that breathe again.
