Ninja love

Where I (yet again) get beat with the lucky stick.

Dear ladies….
Thank you. You are more than I can handle sometimes. There are times when you so overwhelm me with your love and friendship that I can’t speak. You are my touchstones. I need each one of you in my life now and am grateful everyday that you allow me to be in yours. I often feel unworthy of your love and am trying believe that I deserve it. I hope that I live up to what you think a good friend should be. I love you.

With my most sincere love and friendship,
Joi

Where I am all bragadocious

So another birthday down….. another step closer to the dirt, right ;)

This year was fantastic! As all my avid readers are aware, I have the greatest mother in law in the history of marriage. Every year we have brunch and then do some sort of activity together. Last year we went on a culinary walking tour of the Pearl… year before lunch and shopping for funky plugs for my ears. Well, this year I wanted something more calm. As a mother of a 2 year old I seek quiet (I am sure you can sympathize) So we had brunch at the Country Cat (awesome breakfast) and then spent a glorious afternoon at Abundant fondling yarn and then knitting a scarf for ME out of fancy yarn FOR ME!! We sipped tea and chatted and knit all afternoon…. better than a spa. Then we headed off to a store we go to every year called Presents of Mind and got 2 new bags (yes…. i DO need more bags thankyouverymuch)

I came home just in time to get changed for a date with MNM that he planned himself. My dear sweet selfless friend Rebekah offered to watch The G Man for the evening while we had dinner at The Berlin Inn. Dinner, beer, and dessert were had by both of us. After we went to the hottest place a couple of parents could go if you had a few hours alone……

Powells!! We wondered the isles. I looked at fancy cooking stuff. I read. It was HOT.

The next morning Ms Wafols herself, Zelly, Ll cool Grey, and myself headed out to the huge Dr Marten’s shoe sale and witnessed Grey go into some sort of crazed toddler mode for an hour and a half. I did manage to get some pretty sweet boots and some shoes for the kids. We went to sushi after that. I got to go to Sock Dreams for the first time that afternoon and if you haven’t been there yet….. go there. Now. Stop reading, get in your car, and go. It was beautiful. I wept. We left there ran some errands and went home. Later that evening some friends met us for dinner at Hopworks for more beer, dinner, and laughs.

All in all it was a fantastic birthday. And I am thankful for all the wonderful people that I have in my life.

In which I am glad

I am thankful for Brownies tonight. I need to focus on something other than the election. I feel like I am waiting for a prom date to show.

Last night I had to tell my friend (I watch her boy) that things aren’t going well at school for him. I feel like I kicked her when she was down but I would want someone to tell me if things were going on for Riv at school if the school wasn’t communicating with me…… right? Or was I a giant asshole for butting in? Should I have just watched the boy like she wants me to and keep my big yap shut? I had a rough night thinking about it.

Oh and for added fun.. I was supposed to be getting OMIP for insurance…… seems like my id couldn’t be seen clearly so I need to send them a bill… yaya another month with no ins.

In which I catch up.
